back in london with my two babies.

i've recently bought a new baby which arrived on friday just as i was about to leave for london - a new camera!

known as 'the blogger camera' i couldn't resist but spend a (rather large) fraction of my student loan on it. she took its first trip to london this weekend and was welcomed with extremely icy cold weather.

i knew it was a good day when a little flowered appeared on my cactus this morning!

after taking the coach to hammersmith in the evening and appreciating my dad's offer of picking me up at the station, i was tucked into bed after catching up with my family.

the next morning, my sister woke me up bright and early to film a youtube video on her channel! we did the sister tag and as i hadn't eaten breakfast, my tummy couldn't resist but interrupt every so often with a rumble. the video now has a hungry count on it.

thankfully, my parents had decided to go for a korean buffet in new malden for lunch! this is a new restaurant which opened up recently and was jam packed when we visited. they served fresh sushi and many dishes which weren't fried so that my spots wouldn't hola at me (though i couldn't resist with the fried sweet potato) - the food was such a contrast to my meals at uni!!

after spending half a day with my family, i made my way out to central london to meet loklok. it had only been 2 weeks since we met up in southampton but we definitely missed each other between that time.

as it was so cold outside and the wind literally cut our faces, we decided to find somewhere to chill indoors. we stopped by the southbank centre which had many sofas and cool architecture indoors.

when we decided to brave the weather, we went all out and walked around to test out my new camera. here's our photo journey:

in the evening, we headed over to thai silk in southwark for zun en's 22nd birthday. a lot of people turned up, and i was so happy to see a lot of my church friends - i sure missed their banter and funny antics!

it was an awesome time of catching up, karaoke, dancing, drinking and buffet eating to say the least.

i always knew we were the most attractive couple ever.
cake pops galore

and to end the night, a silly snapchat on the train home.

old rituals.

it feels like i've got something exciting going on every weekend lately. this weekend i welcomed etain back to southampton as she was on half term, and we were back to our usual non-troublesome rituals.
as soon as i picked her up from the coach station and we did our grocery shop, the first thing we did was sit down and eat some good ham and cheese pasties.
what happened next was unbelievable. etain introduced me to a game she had become addicted to and even paid for - happy chef 2.
we literally sat for a solid hour or so to play before i had to run to my tutorial class.

i came back, we got addicted to another game - supermarket mania 2, and then decided to make some pasta and garlic bread for dinner. we caught up big time, big girl talk.

our evening consisted of nestling in bed (we are naturals after all) and just jamming together like we always used to. in the evening, we continued to plan our holiday in amsterdam for this summer. we managed to FaceTime loklok and book our tickets - its really happening!!
airbnb wasn't really in our favour that night so we decided to make some chicken dippers and chill before heading to bed at 6am.

after 5 hours sleep, we woke up to head to ikea, our fave shop - i felt so at home and as if i was back in croydon as i used to come here with etain and my family so often! meatballs and their signature dessert was the one before we got a major food coma and walked around the show rooms.

if you know me, you know i've always wanted to get a lemon tree. i don't want no roses, bouquets or herbs, i want a lemon tree. too bad i didn't have a car, otherwise i would've carried this back.
after heading back, i made etain her last supper - noodles. we then said our goodbyes until we meet next week again when i head back to london!!

see you soon babycakes, was good to have you x

valentines weekend.

not only was it valentines this weekend for loklok and i, but also our 6 months of FaceTime, cheese time and happy time.

loklok headed down to southampton from warwick on thursday and i went to meet him at the coach station at 11:30pm meaning yes, we missed our last bus back and ended up walking half an hour to get back in the 1C weather.

on friday, we decided to go grab some groceries from sainsbury's at which we somehow spent 2 hours in there looking for random food items. i ended up spending £40 on food alone before we took the bus back juggling a broken shopping bag. ugh those peak times.

perhaps the yummiest chicken curry i made.

loklok and i could be both the most un-chinese people and the freshest at the same time. we started a new chinese drama this weekend and became addicted to it.
i cooked up a really satisfying chicken curry rice for us and the evening was spent watching films and dramas.

on valentines sunday, we originally planned for a romantic breakfast at mcdonalds before heading to church but we couldn't seem to wake up in time so just headed straight to church.
we did, however enjoy some hot cheese and breadsticks afterwards. we have also come to learn that our relationship very much involves cheese - we are cheese lovers ok

5:50am train station settings

we did an all-nighter on sunday evening as loklok's coach back was at 6:20am and so we left in the sub-zero temperatures at 5:45am and headed out to the airport. it was indeed a lonely journey heading back to my halls by myself in the freezing cold and dark, and coming back to all the food mess we've made in my room which not long ago i was enjoying with loklok.
but it was indeed a weekend well-spent, and it'll just be two weeks until we'll see each other again when we'll both be visiting home in london!

140 miles.

one evening, as i tried to browse for some cheap tickets for loksze to come down to southampton, i myself spied some £5 one way coach tickets during my inter-semester period where we have no lessons or lectures. out of spontaneity (here we go again), i booked the tickets and was on my way to warwick the following week.

as the tickets were so cheap, the times were also quite funky. my coach departed at 6:20am, and so i decided that the night before i had to do an all-nighter otherwise i just wouldn't be able to wake up.

thankfully, on thursday we had to do a moot (mock trial) worth 10% of our year, and it had been stressing everyone out, particularly those who hate public speaking. once it was over, it was definitely  worthy of celebration and so we went clubbing that evening and we ensured i got back as late as possible so i wouldn't fall asleep. at 4am, i got back and had just enough time to shower and pack my stuff. my flatmate who was severely drunk also offered to take me to the bus stop in the pouring rain in case any weird guys hit on me at this awkward hour.

once the coach came, i happily slept for 3 hours, arriving at oxford at half 8ish, and then at warwick at around 10.

loksze met me at the coach station (late, of course), and we hurried off to his halls as he had an exam that day. whilst he revised, i had a good nap and woke up to a breakfast and hot choc he made me. oh, and that knife? - i wanted something to cut my bacon with.

after loksze came back from his exam, we went to tesco to fetch our food for the following few days to find that easter had arrived already!

being 'classy' people, we also picked up some cheese and biscuits with assorted ham and meat for late night snacking.

and of course, we couldn't forget our red wine. unfortunately we weren't able to find a bottle opener, so resorted to using keys. didn't quite work to say the least, but somehow we managed to pop it into the bottle!

friday and saturday was just spent watching movies and chinese dramas (digging them roots i know!), getting to know loksze's friends and chilling - well deserved after our exams.
on sunday, we went to church and proceeded to some hearty pub grub.

we then went for a walk in the park before heading back and making sure i was packed up and ready to leave for the following morning. when i got back, i managed to miss my first lecture of the semester and was greeted with cries of i missed you and dramas. what a great start to my next semester :)
